The National Library is interested in receiving donations that will help fill the Library´s collection gaps, in particular, donations of heritage materials pertaining to Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Items printed or published in all periods are accepted, if they fall within collection guidelines. The National Library is particularly interested in materials dating from pre- and post-independence (1945-1970), the Japanese Occupation (1942-1945) and earlier.

Conditions of acceptance
Donations are reviewed in accordance with the National Library´s collection policies, and the terms and conditions discussed.

Materials Preferred
• Materials published in Singapore before 1945
• Private papers and personal correspondence of Singapore pioneers who contributed to the development of national identity and consciousness.
• Singapore and Southeast Asian society, culture, and history
• Development of English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil literature in Singapore, especially in the early part of the 20th century, pre- and post-WWII and pre- and post-independence literary works.
• History of Education in Singapore
• Development of the Arts in Singapore, especially pertaining to photography, art and theatre
• Unpublished materials if it contributes to research on the above areas
